UIR readies to defend Muslim homelands; Sails to contain S.T.E.A.L.


Today, Ankara, UIR: The state of Turkey (one of many that make up the UIR) began to call up reservists in the far eastern provinces, anticipating a possible Soviet assault across the border with Armenia. Soviet intentions are unknown as of now, but Minister of Propaganda al-Jaziirahh told the press during a Baghdad news conference that "the UIR is not going to war agianst our Russian neighbors to the north, we are simply wary of the lack of communication from the Soviet embassies in Damascus, Baghdad, Riyadh, Jerusalem, and Ankara." Current reports say that local Mujahideen forces have been gathering in the eastern parts of Turkey, but are not equipped with the mechanized equipment for waging offensive warfare.

In other news: The UIR launched a fleet of cruisers into the Red Sea, after receiving reports of profound piracy off the Somali Coast. The fleet pledges to defend all territory from the Suez Canal to the horn of Africa, to help contain the pirate threat. Leading this resurgance in piracy has been the nefarious group who calls themselves Somali Tactical Engagement and Asset Liberation (S.T.E.A.L.)...
